My name is Laura Rochelle Ragin. I am a well-being mentor.
I share my story for three reasons:
- so you can get to know me better,Â
- you may find that we have similar life experiences, and
- if I can change my life, so can you.
I was in a high-stress administrative finance position in a billion-dollar organization. I had no boundaries in my life. My work-life balance was non-existent. I was working hard, but I had lost joy in my work.
Still, I continued to work around the clock. I was a single mom of four and the only daughter of an aging parent in another state.
Instead of letting up, I doubled down on my designated career path. I made time for everyone but me. I dragged myself out of bed every morning. I was emotionally and physically drained.Â

Are you feeling emotionally and physically drained too?
Â
Then one day, I had an awful pain in my leg. I called my oldest daughter, a physician, and she insisted I call my primary doctor immediately. I reluctantly made the call.
The diagnosis was a superficial blood clot in my right leg. I had not been taking care of myself physically because I was an emotional and mental wreck.
I was everything to everyone but was making no time for me.
I hit the trifecta. I was burned out mentally, emotionally, and physically.
I neglected myself, and...
It was not pretty.
Can you relate?
Now, in reality—I was not the best mom, daughter, or employee, just the opposite of my intent. I was running on empty all of the time.
I was no longer my authentic self.
This is the moment my work really began. I knew change had to start with me. If I could not provide self-love, how could I possibly be giving love and kindness to others?
I had lost a part of me.
Do you feel like you have lost your true self?
I began the process of self-nurturing in my life.
Today, I am still not perfect, but I have grown into a much better place. I am more authentically me. I am a much better mom, daughter, and partner.
And as far as my work-life balance goes, I found my true calling in helping others become more authentically themselves. So, I became a well-being and self-nurturing mentor.
If you’re at the point, I was. And you’re ready to learn how to nurture the best you, not only for yourself but for those around you...

"Before being in the Discovery Circle, I was stuck in the cycle of people-pleasing and self-criticism. I constantly second-guessed myself and felt exhausted. Through this Circle, I learned to set boundaries, give myself grace, and build daily habits that actually stick. My family even noticed the change—I’m calmer, more present, and finally feel at peace with who I am."

"Yes! ABCs of Self-Nurturing is a truly stunning must-read for anyone genuinely interested in unlocking their full potential. The affirmations are energetically on point, and the invitation to identify and work on limiting beliefs makes my therapist heart sing… Then the rubber really meets the road offering reader’s a workbook-style interaction. It is artistically bound together with lovely sweet illustrations adorning the pages and quotes by our most beloved transformational thought leaders…Wayne Dyer, Emily Dickinson, Lao Tzu, Buddha, Dr. Seuss…just to name a few. It’s a legit therapeutic delight!"

Are you ready to take a different path of self-nurturing? The word nurture means to care and encourage the growth or development of; cherish. Remember, self-nurturing is not selfish.
